Two Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies were given a special recognition during this morning’s commissioner’s court meeting. Hidalgo county sheriff deputy Hugo Rodriguez and Manuel Morales were recognized for their acts for bravery after coming under fire during a traffic stop on October 30, 2011 near Val Verde Road in Edinburg. Alleged Gamehaus Gunman Arrested In Brooks County

The alleged gunman who allegedly shot and killed 24-year-old Daniel Avila outside a McAllen bar was intercepted at the Falfurrias U.S. Border patrol checkpoint a few hours ago. McAllen police tell FOX 2 NEWS, 29-year-old Manuel Sanchez is in custody. He is believed to be the trigger man who opened fire at a crowd at the Gamehaus gastropub parking lot around 1am today. The shooting according to McAllen police Chief Victor Rodriguez, appears to have sparked from an altercation between a group of individuals inside the establishment. Man suffers 2nd degree burns in shed fire

A 44 year old man remains hospitalized after suffering second-degree burns when the shed he was sleeping in caught on fire last night.  The blaze happened around 9:50pm near Juan Balli and Stewart Roads in the city of San Juan.  Both, Pharr and San Juan fire crews responded to the blaze and managed to extinguish the flames bursting out of the structure.  San Juan fire chief, Tirso Garza tells Fox 2 news, the fire was accidental.
