Carlos Elizondo, the former Brownsville Fire Department Chief, turned himself in Tuesday afternoon, after his Brownsville home was searched by the DA’s office. The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office tells Fox News, two warrants were issued for Elizondo’s arrest. This comes as the agency executed a search warrant at the home located on Vanessa Drive. That same afternoon, Elizondo turned himself into the district attorney’s office, accompanied by his attorney. Brownsville Fire Chief Steps Down

As of today Carlos Elizondo is no longer the fire chief for the Brownsville Fire Department. This after accusations against Elizondo surfaced last month. As we told our viewers earlier this week-, Brownsville Fire Chief Carlos Elizondo has had certain accusations against him including mishandling of funds and firing employees without cause. Fire Union Alleges Funds Missing

Brownsville (KFXV) – The Brownsville Fire Union is alleging the current Fire Chief, Carlos Elizondo withdrew thousands from the union’s account. According to the union, from January 2014 to April 2016, Elizondo withdrew money while he served as President of the Political Action Committee.
