Mexican Officials Deny Shooting at McAllen Couple

MCALLEN (KFXV) — We have an update to a story we reported on yesterday, on two MCALLEN residents who were injured in Reynosa during a shootout between federal officials and armed criminals. According to Mexican news outlets, Luis Alfredo Aleman and his wife, Alejandra Aleman were injured while shopping. Both are now back in the United States. After a five-day trial, Luis Gerardo Betancourt has been convicted on two charges– but is now considered a fugitive, after failing to appear in federal court.
