EDINBURG (KFXV) — Police arrested one man for allegedly driving while intoxicated. According to a criminal complaint filed by the Edinburg Police Department, an officer stopped the driver of a vehicle — later identified as Juan Eduardo Garcia of Rio Grande City — for running a red light. The officer saw Garcia exhibiting symptoms of intoxication — and Garcia admitted to having at least one beer. Police arrested Garcia — who refused a breathalyzer test. Man Dies in Custody; Police Investigating

Hidalgo County (KFXV) — Authorities are investigating the death of a man at a local city jail. Edinburg police have requested help from the sheriff’s office in investigating the death of man in their custody. Thirty-year-old, Christopher Reyes, was placed in custody Sunday morning, after officers responded to a 911 call from a family member. During his apprehension, Reyes was transported to a local hospital where he died that afternoon. Over the weekend Edinburg CISD police plays the teacher in custody for charges of improper relationship between an educator and a student. According to the county jail records Francisco Coronado Badillo who works is a teacher for the Career and Technical education department and Robert Vela High School was detained on Saturday and brought before a judge who charged him with one count of Sexual Assault and another for improper relationship with a student. Edinburg (KFXV) — A second suspect is now in custody for the murder of Anastacio Rocha. A judge named 28-year-old, Hector Jonathan Perez as an additional suspect in the murder of Rocha found dead in his car in rural Edinburg last week by way of a GPS tracking device.
