Federal Jury Finds Local Man Guilty of Trafficking Meth

BROWNSVILLE (KFXV) — A federal jury found one man guilty of importing methamphetamine. After a two day trial, the U.S. Attorney’s office is reporting that 55-year-old, Martin Araiza-Jacobo — a permanent resident — is guilty of several drug charges, including the importation of meth into the country. Arraiza-Jacobo attempted to cross through the gateway international bridge with the narcotics disguised as candies. Customs agents found 83 packages, containing over 5 kilograms of the drug. Pair Sentenced to 10 Years on drug charges

ALTON (KFXV) -An Alton couple received a 10-year sentence in federal prison for drug conspiracy. According to court records, the pair, identified as 53-year-old, Rodolfo Chavez Gonzalez and his wife, 48-year-old, Maria Elizabeth Gonzalez, entered guilty pleas in November of last year. A U.S. district judge handed down the 120-month sentence for possession with intent to distribute more than 150 kilos of marijuana. Authorities launched a long-term investigation into the couple, and learned they were involved in “multiple marijuana smuggling events” and had buyers in the Houston area. Two Broke into a McAllen Home and demanded money

McAllen (KFXV) — Police arrested two individuals after they broke into a home and demanded money. Investigators with McAllen P.D. are reporting that on Tuesday morning, officers responded to reports of a burglary. During the investigation, police learned that a number of individuals broke into a home on the 2400 block of West Covina Avenue, demanded money and then fled. Two suspects have been arrested and identified as 18-year-old, Gustavo De Leon and 19-year-old, Jose Arturo Reyes Sanchez. Two Arrested After Traffic Stop; One Flees on Foot

Brownsville (KFXV) — Officers arrested a man who attempted to evade police during a traffic stop. According to the Brownsville Police Department, after conducting a traffic stop, on the 9600 block of FM 1732, officers identified the pair as Ricardo Narvaez and Roy Edward Cantu, and learned Narvaez had a pending warrant. Police arrested him, but Cantu fled. Police caught Cantu and found marijuana, cocaine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and Xanax pills in his possession.
