One Detained After Shooting in Downtown McAllen

McAllen (KFXV) – In McAllen, a man is facing charges after a shooting Monday evening. Fifty-five-year-old Jose Marcos Gonzalez is facing three charges including delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and unlawfully carrying a weapon. Officers responded to 14th 1/2  and Lindberg Avenue after reports of shots fired. A preliminary investigation revealed a drug transaction had gone badly, and led to the shooting. As of December, Valley residents who visit downtown McAllen will have additional options to pay their parking fee. These new 17 electronic parking meters along Main Street, will accept payment in credit or debit cards. An early morning shooting in downtown McAllen leaves one man injured. As he recovers in hospital, police set their sights on finding the gunman. This is the second shooting in downtown McAllen this week, and it has residents and local business owners concerned about their safety. Downtown McAllen Shooting Leaves Two Injured

A shooting in downtown McAllen leaves two injured; one of whom is a police officer. A total of three suspects were involved in the incident. Two of those suspects are behind bars tonight, while another is in hospital, recovering from a gunshot wound. Police officials confirm 10 shots were fired early Sunday morning. The video you’re watching was captured by a witness. According to officers, the suspects in the vehicle were involved in an aggravated assault two minutes before the video was taken. That’s why they’re trying to flee the scene. The suspects head straight for the police cars, and that’s when officers open fire. The driver is 30 year old Guillermo Tovar Jr. He was later arrested at his Palmview home. Twenty-two-year-old Fernando Perez Jr. bailed out of the car while they were on 17th Street, he too was arrested. The third suspect, Armando Mercado, was hit by a police bullet, he remains in hospital. All three suspects have a long criminal record, and could be charged with criminal capital murder.
