RGV (KFXV) — In a reunion today with Representative Filemon Vela, the family of one valley veteran asks for help to bring him back in the united states after being deported. Alfredo Garcia is a veteran who fought in the Vietnam War, however his battle only begun after coming back home as he found himself in the other side of the law. Previously Deported Man Arrested Near Roma

Roma (KFXV) — According to federal documents, agents with the Harlingen Fugitive Operations unit arrested a previously deported Mexican man.  On Thursday of last week, Harlingen police arrested 41-year-old Rigoberto Olvera-Martinez near Rio Grande City.  According to police, Martinez confessed to illegally crossing back into the U.S. in May of last year near Roma.  Martinez received a conviction in June of 2006 for importing more than 5 kilos of cocaine, and has a 41-month sentence. Martinez received a court-appointed lawyer and awaits his...

Deported Felon Faces Aggravated Robbery Charges

McAllen (KFXV) — Another previously deported individual is in custody for his alleged involvement in a series of robberies. McAllen police arrested Jorge Luis Almanza — a Mexican citizen, who has a felony conviction for an aggravated robbery. On March 27 he approached a woman on the 300 block of Yucca, held her at gunpoint and demanded her vehicle. He along with two teens, also allegedly stole another woman’s car on Monday on the 800 block of Robin Street. Almanza faces two counts of aggravated robbery, and a $400,000 bond.
