The stars and stripes are once again flying above the U.S. embassy in Cuba. Today’s flag-raising ceremony marks a milestone in the once-chilly relations between the two neighbors. U.S. Citizens Still Not Permitted to Travel to Cuba

President Obama yesterday announced an historic deal to loosen a diplomatic freeze with Cuba yesterday… but the question many Americans have today: can I plan a vacation in Cuba? The answer: not yet. The Cuban government says about 100,000 Americans visit Cuba per year. But many of those people have family in Cuba and were given permission to visit for specific purposes. The president’s new policy opens the door for other kinds of travelers, like journalists, researchers, educators, and humanitarians.
