Brownsville Woman Jailed For Child Negligence

A woman from Brownsville is facing charges of negligence involving her two year old son after he was found wandering near a canal. The incident happened near the 1500 block of Monterrey Drive, when police responded to a nearby resident’s complaint. The residents claimed they had seen the 2-year-old child wandering near the waterway unattended for about 30 minutes. The toddler’s mother was identified as 59-year-old, Yolanda Rangel.
