According to officials, the man refused to stop after a traffic violation, and various officers pursued the man on Los Ebanos Rd, east of Mile 5. Alton Blaze Damages Welding Shop

ALTON (KFXV) — Fire officials are investigating another blaze in Alton this time at a welding shop that occurred this afternoon. According to authorities, around 1 this afternoon, firefighters responded to the business near La Homa, just west of Mile 7. Employees of the shop were welding when sparks ignited brush, causing the fire. The flames also caused damaged to an abandoned structure nearby. Pair Sentenced to 10 Years on drug charges

ALTON (KFXV) -An Alton couple received a 10-year sentence in federal prison for drug conspiracy. According to court records, the pair, identified as 53-year-old, Rodolfo Chavez Gonzalez and his wife, 48-year-old, Maria Elizabeth Gonzalez, entered guilty pleas in November of last year. A U.S. district judge handed down the 120-month sentence for possession with intent to distribute more than 150 kilos of marijuana. Authorities launched a long-term investigation into the couple, and learned they were involved in “multiple marijuana smuggling events” and had buyers in the Houston area. ALTON (KFXV) — The man that is accused of trying to execute a beer run that escalated into a hostage situation received formal charges today. Authorities identified the suspect at 17-year-old, Armando Ortiz. The incident occurred at a Stripe Convenience Store near the 500 block of East Main Avenue in Alton.
