Six Cameron County residents have been arrested for their roles in purchasing firearms using false statements.

Two separate, but related, indictments have been partially unsealed following the arrest of 23 year old Miguel angel Luiton of San Benito, 34 year old Jose Dosal and 28 year old ester Cardenas, both of Harlingen and Brownsville residents Ike Samuel Junior, Jose de Jesus Ruiz and Fabian Medina.

The indictments charge all six individuals with conspiracy to make false statements and making false statements in a firearm transaction record.

If convicted, they each face up to 5 years in prison and a possible maximum fine of 250 thousand dollars.
