In Weslaco, one man is facing charges in connection to a home invasion.

Authorities say it was thanks to the help of neighbors that they were able to arrest the suspect.

The suspect is one of three involved in the home invasion that took place Tuesday morning at a Weslaco home.

Forty-year-old José Edwardo Vega was detained last night in a joint effort from the U.S. Marshal’s office and Weslaco police.

Vega is linked to the aggravated robbery at a home located on the 900 block of Spear Street.

“Forced into the house, zip tied the grandmother and a couple of kids that were there with the grandmother. The 15-year-old barricaded himself inside the bedroom and was never seen or contacted. Subjects ransacked the residence and left.”

Police immediately began the search for the suspects.

Officials say neighbors played a big role with the identification of those involved.
