McAllen (KFXV) — More than a dozen suspected undocumented immigrants were arrested.

Multiple law enforcement agents raided a home in North McAllen, prompting the temporary lock-down of two schools less than a mile away.

McAllen police, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s deputies and Border Patrol agents searched the residence at the 3000 block of Loyola Avenue this morning. More than a dozen people were found – both a male and female were taken to a local hospital. A woman who lives nearby says she noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area.

She adds she was taken by surprise when she learned of what was taking place across the street.

Mcallen police say a vehicle pursuit took place this morning – prompting the temporary closure of an elementary and middle school – but did not say if it was related to the home search.

The people believed to be undocumented immigrants were seen boarding a bus – possibly taken to a detention center to be processed.

We contacted Border Patrol but they were not available to comment.
