Mission (KFXV) — A mother and her three children are on the streets after a fire consumes their home.

We spoke with the family who say they are now faced with how to survive. This after coming home to firefighters battling to extinguish the flames inside their house.

Pieces of burnt clothing, what’s left of a fan and family memories that are now ashes are all what’s left on this family’s property.

Fire officials with Palmview and Alton responded to the 5000 block of Janice Drive and put out the fire but unfortunately say the home was declared a total loss.

Although the investigation is still ongoing authorities believe a faulty outlet might have been the cause of the fire.

The blaze left three children ages 16, 14 and 9 years old and their single mother without a home.

Our cameras were present as Red Cross representatives arrived at the scene hoping to bring some relief to his family who lost it all.
