U.S. Marshals, Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies, precinct two constables, and San Juan police conducted a massive manhunt Monday for a wanted felon.

During the agents attempt to apprehend the subject, he managed to struggle with some of the officers, was tased, but the taser had no effect on him.

The suspect was identified as 23 year old Alfredo Vargas who had an active warrant for parole violation out of San Antonio stemming from an aggravated assault.

Vargas was arrested at a residence on Curry road and Curge, in northwest Edinburg.

He is expected to face evading and resisting arrest charges Tuesday afternoon at the San Juan municipal court.
