McAllen — A man fights for his life after being shot in the parking lot of a commercial plaza in front of a bar on the 3600 block of 23rd Street.

Two people are behind bars after allegedly being involved in the confrontation.

They are identified as 24-year-old John Anthony Llamas and 34-year-old Falcon Rivera; both are facing aggravated assault charges.

Israel Pineda is the owner of a bar located in the plaza. He says his business, nor his customers, were connected to the shooting.

“When I saw, it was a Falcon Rivera, the owner of the smoke shop and he was a handcuff by the police.”

Rivera was issued a $150 thousand bond while llamas received a $104 thousand bond.

The investigation continues.
