This morning five people were rescued from a stash house where they were being held.
This after an immigrant, who was able to flee, asked for help to a La Joya police officer who was nearby.
Once at the residence, located in the city limits of Hidalgo County, officers found four Central American women being held against their will.
According to the immigrants, the person who held them captive was part of a criminal organization.
These accusations are still being investigated.
The man responsible for the caretaking of the stash house remains in custody of federal authorities and is expected to face several charges.
