Governor Signs Bill to Change 9-1-1 Dialing across Texas

Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed a bill today–that will change 9-1-1 dialing across the state.

Senate bill 788, also known as ‘Kari’s Law,’ requires multi-line telephone systems to be able to directly dial 9-1-1 in emergency situations. For example, hotel room and business phone lines that typically require a ‘dial-out’ extension would no longer need that extension to be able to connect with emergency personnel.
