Authorities investigate a phone call that led to the evacuation of the Hidalgo County Courthouse.
Hundreds were evacuated from the courthouse. Some say they feared for their life and not knowing what to expect.
Authorities say they received a call around 9 this morning. They say the person who made the call warned them about three packages that have been delivered to the courthouse.
“They said the bomb on that was going to go off any time between when the caller was calling in and 10 this morning” – Julia Sullivan
Courthouse, the elections department, and the Commissioner’s Court building were all evacuated for nearly an hour.
Officials reopened the buildings after nothing suspicious was found.
No one was injured during the process and we’re told the sheriff’s office is investigating the cause.
