School district officials held a memorial ceremony in honor of the victims of Wednesday’s double homicide.

Family, friends and district personnel gathered outside the multi-purpose center to remember the two district employees who were found tied up and shot in the head.

Oneida Balderas Garza, 44, and Lourdes Luna, 33, were found dead by Garza’s husband Wednesday morning at their home on 263 Ebony Circle, across the street from the Rio Grande high school. Both women worked at the business department.
School district officials offered a prayer and their condolences to family members attending the memorial service.

Luna’s husband, an investigator at the Starr County Sheriff’s Department tells us he has been questioned by Texas Rangers as part of the investigation.

The Rangers have not yet named a suspect. If you have any information on this case you are asked to call the Texas Department of Public Safety at (956)565-7600.
