This was the scene of the fatal accident Monday afternoon after this pickup truck crashed into this traffic unit providing traffic control for a street sweeping crew on Expressway 83.
Jason was declared dead at the scene where San Benito Police say he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident but, the impact was so strong not even that could prevent him from ejecting the vehicle.
Head coach Ramiro Leal tells us he and his team saw Jason just minutes before the accident after finishing a football practice. He says they never expected it to be the last time they saw him.
Jason Garcia leaves two little boys behind of 4 and 2 years old. Coach Leal says Jason will be remembered today and always.
