A murder that shook a small Cameron County town has some closure with a jury wasting no time in a back-to-back verdict and sentencing.
Sixty-seven-year-old Aroldo Humberto Cadriel was sentenced to life in prison following today’s guilty verdict in the March 2012 murder of his 20-year-old lover.
The body of Brisna Mireles was found in a grassy field in the Combes area near Harlingen shot five times at point blank range.
Prosecutors’ say the firearm traced back to Cadriel.
And witness testimonies revealed a relationship existed between the two.
Cadriel is eligible for parole after serving 30 years in prison.
