Those waiting for the results of an HIV test won’t have to wait more than a minute thanks to the unveiling of a new medical testing program. In honor of National Latino Aids Awareness Day, the Valley AIDS Council or VAC added the INSTI HIV test to its list of available services. The one minute test requires a simple prick of the finger. Study: High levels of BPA might raise the risk of a miscarriage

BOSTON (AP) — New research suggests that high levels of BPA, a chemical in many plastics and canned food linings, might raise the risk of miscarriage in women prone to that problem or having trouble getting pregnant. The work is not nearly enough to prove a link, but it adds to “the biological plausibility” that BPA might affect fertility and other aspects of health, said Dr. Linda Giudice, a California biochemist who is president of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Health Matters: Study: Fast Food Chain Chicken Nuggets Contain Less Than 50 Percent of Meat

Kids cannot seem to get enough of those fast food chain chicken nuggets, but a new study finds they might not be the healthiest source of protein. Mississippi researchers tested chicken nuggets from two national fast food chains and found the nuggets contained 50 percent or less of actual chicken meat. The other half contained fat, blood vessels, cartilage and even bone pieces. Researchers state that nuggets should only be eaten on occasion.
