Cameron County officials aiming to reduce the number of DWI offences and alcohol related car crashes by implementing a countywide ‘no refusal’ policy.

Beginning June first, law enforcement across the county will requires that persons arrested for DWI, who refuse a breathalyzer test, must provide a blood sample for alcohol testing. The District Attorney’s office will hold its annual law enforcement seminar in April. In that seminar, officers will undergo training for the no refusal policy.
