The 75th Annual RGV Livestock Show taking place in the City of Mercedes is filled with great activities for the entire family.
The 10-day Livestock Show attracts more than a quarter million visitors and about 3,000 exhibitors every year.
Throughout the week judges will inspect and evaluate cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits and other livestock that local students have entered into competition, hoping for ribbons, recognitions and scholarship money to further their education.
Since it began in 1939, the RGV Livestock Show has awarded millions of dollars in scholarships to 4-H and FFA Students who have nurtured and tended their livestock to become Champions of their breeds.
There’s also a carnival which includes more than 100 rides and games, a variety of food vendors and a beer garden.
The RGV Livestock Show runs through March 16th.
