This afternoon, Hidalgo County authorities arraigned a suspect in a domestic violence case.

The alleged aggressor is identified as 39-year-old Joseph Robert Nocar. According to investigators, Nocar killed his father after a fight over money to buy drugs.

The incident happened on Milanos and mile 5 1/2 street in Weslaco. Authorities found the body of 76-year-old Joseph Fredrick Nocar.

Sheriff Eddie Guerra, says they arrived at the residence on Monday regarding a welfare concern. There, they found a pool of blood around the victim’s body in a state of decomposition. He was allegedly hit several times with an unknown object.

“He had a criminal history. He is a gang member, a recent arrest. He was actually on parole for a robbery of the Wells Fargo.”

Nocar received formal charges on first-degree murder with a bond set at 2 million dollars.
