The events unfolded during the early hours of the afternoon when authorities were conducting an investigation into a presumed immigrant stash house. That’s when a black Chevy Camaro carrying seven undocumented immigrants left the property and ensued a chase that ended with the passengers bailing out the car at the intersection of Sugar and Warren in Pharr before they got detained.
Meanwhile, undercover homeland security agents and border patrol, with the assistance of precinct 1 constables and sheriff deputies waited to carry out a search warrant at the initial property south of Ciudad Mante and Campeche streets where more immigrants were believed to be housed.
By 7:30pm agents detained 24 men and four women of multiple nationalities. They are expected to be turned over to the border patrol.
