A 15-year-old girl was rescued from kidnappers’ during the early hours of Tuesday in Mission.

One suspect is now in custody; however, another is still at large.

According to authorities, what was meant to be a night out for the young girl, turned into a nightmare.

The 15-year-old snuck out of her foster home in Starr County along with a 17-year-old friend who invited her to a party.

Hidalgo County Sheriffs were advised a short time after midnight by Zapata authorities that the girl’s biological mother was called by a man asking for ransom for the release of her daughter.

Calls were linked back to the city of mission where the suspect, 36-year-old Ricardo Mata was later located during a traffic stop.
